Slow progress here, with work picking up tempo, holidays, and not feeling well recently. I did get a bit done with some BattleTech figures:
Decal time for some proxy Comstar vehicles - from Death Ray Designs. Takes a fair bit of time do apply them especially the checks, but they really make the vehicles stand out on a table.
And the decals are mostly done - I missed the checks on one of the tanks! The mechs in the background are almost completely finished, just some basing details and varnish to go.
.
Looks sharp! Painting checks free hand is a hassle (I know, I've tried it). I guess you trim a long strip of checks to size?
ReplyDeleteThanks! That is my process exactly. The checks are also from Death Ray Designs, and seem to be just thick enough to let me place a reasonably long strip on the vehicles.
DeleteLooks like much more than a little work was accomplished.
ReplyDeleteThanks - those vehicles had awaited their decals for a long time though.
DeleteThey look great Greg, and nice work with the decals. I have a bottle of the Microsol and Microset somewhere, but have yet to use them.
ReplyDeleteThanks. If you work with decals those solutions are very useful. I try to pick easy spots on the vehicles - flat and not so large - to make it even easier.
DeleteNot my thing at all Greg (I am hanging out for more SCW!) but they do look very impressive - great paint job and as you say, the decals make them pop!
ReplyDeleteThank you. A little more patience for the SCW stuff though, but I have an idea for them...
DeleteNicely done
ReplyDeleteLovely finish on thd armour and the walkers, very nice and definitely worth doing the decals!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thank you!
